Worrys Averted??

Post by haveaparade » Tue Apr 23, 2013 11:05 pm

I joined here before the release of TDH, just after Recovery was released. I was really worried about the direction Frank could be heading in. Massive fan since 2005(ish), I've got all the releases on Vinyl and the other day the new record dropped through the box.

First listen, I wasn't too sure. Now on the fourth or fifth, My concerns have been largely averted. The album has gone down the more poppy route in ways, certainly the production is very radio friendly. But the songs don't jump out as tracks just written to sell copies. It's far from my favourite album by Frank, but I think that's mostly due to there being a few too many love songs. That said, all in all, a million times better than most the crap out there and although it doesn't match up to Love, Ire and Song / Campfire Punkrock / England Keep My Bones... Hell, may as well add in Poetry.... It is still a bloody good collection of music.

Keep on fighting the good fight.

I don't know why everyone has a problem with poetry, it's possibly my favourite album.

Poetry really does slip under the radar, not my favourite album that goes to love ire and song but it's still a great album!

Rock and Roll EP is still my favourite thing Frank has done!

I adore Poetry. It bothers me as well. I might call it my favorite at times but I think that's more memory-associated.
