My favourites have to be Oh Brother, The Fisher King Blues, Losing Days and Broken Piano, even if it does sound a bit like Coldplay, it's probably my favourite. I get a bit of a Harmony No Harmony vibe from Broken Piano and the way Frank mirrors the piano. I get a real HNH vibe in the lyrics "In such a way that one could only play Minor melodies" and "You did not join in harmony", which when I first heard, it reminded me of "the harmonies have faded away, but the melody remains". Not that this is a bad thing however, Harmony No Harmony is probably my favourite Million Dead song, and Broken Piano one of my favourites of Frank's.

Posted in other thread, but bar Four Simple words which is a difficult song not have loved since Wembley, I'm picking Tell Tale Signs as my fav at the moment. But really, I'm going round singing nearly every song of this album already!

Losing Days is just about the perfect track to run to, it appears.

I don't mean to be a negative nancy but I've never struggled to get into a FT album like this one. Sensing it's a real grower.

I like The Way I Tend To Be, Plain Sailing Weather and Polaroid Picture but I'm just not feeling much else right now. I like Four Simple Words & Recovery too but I listened to those a lot before the album was released.

Oh and Broken Piano sounding that much like Chris Martin is kind of killing it for me. I know it's a pretty decent song but I can't ignore it when I listen to it. Goddamnit :(

Where do you get this idea I'm some kind of elite sprinter? I think you're confusing me with Kirsty. I'm an endurance athlete, I run slow and very, very far.

I felt the same way when I first listened to it, but it's one of those albums you have to sit down and really listen too to appreciate how good it really is. When the band kicks in during Broken Piano and creates this really epic finish <3

Since my first post I have to say Cowboy Chords and Gene Simmons are quickly becoming classic Frank tracks for me, if you didn't get the deluxe version it is really worth investing in.

Losing Days is my favorite right now. Recovery, Plain Sailing Weather and Good & Gone are getting more iPod play than the others... but that will change. Taking my time exploring this fine album.

As standalone songs, instant hits for me were Recovery, Anymore (although I find it a difficult listen), We Shall Not Overcome, The Way I Tend To Be. and Plain Sailing Weather.

As I've listened to TDH pretty much non stop on my commute this week, other songs have really grown on me. Broken Piano in particular has really come to the fore. When the band kick in near the end, it feels genuinely epic.

These are my feelings too pretty much. I think Four Simple Words is the best song on the album, but I listened to it loads before! Broken Piano is my least favourite Frank song ever, but loads of people seem to love it! Good and Gone doesn't do it for me either.

We Shall Not Overcome is awesome though. Think it would be brilliant live!

Recovery, Losing Days, The Way I Tend to Be [possibly my favorite overall], Plain Sailing Weather, Four Simple Words [yes, pretty impossible not to love], Polaroid Picture, We Shall Not Overcome, and Time Machine. Although Good and Gone doesn't grab me as much musically, I do love the sentiment behind its lyrics. Still making my mind up about Broken Piano, though I can say I appreciate Frank stretching himself vocally and writing such evocative lyrics. (I only lived there for 14 months, but I'm such a sucker for anything London-related!)
Brevity is not my forte.

The Way I Tend to Be, Plain Sailing Weather, Tell Tale Signs, Four Simple Words, Oh Brother and Time Machine stand out the most so far.

I absolutely love Anymore. Really beautiful song. The Fisher King Blues is also great, I like Broken Piano a lot as well although I would have stuck way more drums on the end!

That said, this album is a bit too poppy for my tastes in places, so much so that I wasn't totally sure I would buy it based on the singles. I'm really glad I have though. Also, despite what everybody is saying it is possible not to like Four Simple Words, I skip it every time. Sorry guys!

PS. Come to France, Francis!
