Saw Bruce and Frank 6 times each. Both amazing, but nothing beats the Boss for me.
Bruce has the edge on Frank when it comes to length of gigs (though he does fewer of them and has many more days off) and setlist variety.
Best shows: Bruce: Florence (Italy). Frank: tie between Wembley and Webster Hall New York night 2.

Saw imperial leisure last night, sound like madness and rizzle kicks blended together!! that was a pretty mega gig!! I think i may have made this thread a little too early though. Got at least 2 more gigs to go to before the end of the year and they should be massive. Oh and the 2 times i saw frank he was amazing!!!!

I know how you feel, my best show was Bruce in Gothenburg (second night).

Frank in Liverpool second.

All else (even Gaslight Anthem, who are my favourite band) a long way behind although seeing Mumford and Sons practically in a school hall last week was great.

1. Frank and the Souls ... I can't really pick just one show ... but off the top of my head, Webster Hall, the Cobra Lounge (Chicago) show and the Grog Shop (Cleveland) one stand out. Could just as well be any of the others, though.
2. Keane at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia ... they've got loads of songs that mean a lot to me, almost all of which were on the setlist. Best all-seated crowd I've ever been in.
3. Roger Waters at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia ... I grew up with The Wall, blew my mind to see it live. Only reason it didn't top them all was the crowd, which was more obnoxious than I expected even in nosebleed seats.
4. Biffy Clyro at Bowery Electric in NYC ... Biffy in the basement of a tiny club ... need I say more?
5. Coldplay at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia ... almost didn't go due to cost and not being all that fond of their newer stuff. Cracked and got a behind-the-stage seat at the last minute, loved every second.
Honorable mentions: Dropkicks, AWOLNATION, Larry and His Flask, Riverboat Gamblers (in my own state!). And the year isn't even over ... still got The Hold Steady coming up. :D
2011: 8/26, 28, 11/4(x2); 2012: 2/21, 22, 23, 24, 3/9, 11, 12, 18, 9/8, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 28, 29, 30; 2013: 6/5, 6, 7(x2), 8, 7/26, 31, 8/1, 2, 10/4, 5, 11/16, 19, 29(X2). 2014: 6/4. 2015: 3/8, 9(x2), 5/12, 13, 14, 15. 18

You made it here then Barlow....lol

Paris 2 5th July 2012 - Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Best show I've ever seen by anybody this or any year (even without the unforgettable Clarence 'Big Man' Clemons - only Bruce could find a way over that loss)

2nd Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls, Cheese and Grain Frome - awesome even on crutches. thanks again Frank

3rd Beach Boys 50th tour at Royal Albert Hall

Bossman
Amy worked in a bar in Exeter, Springsteen came clear in my headphones - Frank, did you write these lyrics for me?

I wouldn't consider 8 years to be all that short a space of time.
Probably should have put that in context, first time I saw Frank it was the Sugarmill in Stoke, holds about 400, then in less than a year next time I see them, they're playing Wembley Arena. It felt like a huge leap.
That tour he was (deliberately) playing venues far too small for his following at that point, previous tour to that he was playing much bigger venues.

You saw Direct Hit at Fest? That's badass, I was stage manager for that show. They blew me away so much that I bought a shirt and a cd on the spot. Seeing them and Frank was the highlight of my weekend.

The Bronx at the Tunbridge Wells Forum, Future of the Left at 2000 Trees, Jim Lockey and Chewing on Tinfoil at Whelans in Dublin, Crazy Arm at Southsea Festival, Tall Ships in XOYO Shoreditch - they were all great

This guys have to be somewhere on my favourite gigs of the year as I love them! No they aren't big or massive but my god can they write awesome songs. I filmed their whole set last November as they don't have any recordings as such yet. Have a listen and see what you think - http://addistock.wordpress.com/2012/12/ ... nk-201112/

I'm going to be very unoriginal and go for Springsteen at Hard Rock Calling. Specifically the last hour of it.
