Pretty sure I've not actually listened to an album released this year... Fucking hell.

High hopes for the new Katy Perry effort though. And I've pre-ordered Deftones.

This years been incredible for new albums. I'll go with John K Samson, Jim Lockey and The Menzingers as top 3, not sure what order though.

I reckon my favorite album the year would be mewithoutYou - Ten stories. Honourable mentions go to Future of the Left and Godspeed.

Not sure about worst album, the two I didn't have high hopes for (Muse/Mars Volta) turned out a lot better than I was expecting. It sometimes pays to not get your hopes up

I was thinking John's was last year, doh ... add that to my favorites. I definitely loved that album.

Ans again, I would recommend listening to an album before buying it as I didn't do this with my worst one
Nooooooooo, whatever happened to letting albums grow on you over time? Everything is so instant these days. Many of my favourite albums I dismissed on first listen but went back to them a few months later and now can't live without them.

Love The Cribs and was so hoping Bull was a return to their roots but got boring so quickly
disappointing

Gaslight I struggled with a little to begin with but now cannot stop listening to it
loved Straight Lines and Hawkeyes
but hoping my favourite of this year comes out in Dec with Willy Mason's latest
such high hopes for that one

This.

Its usually a case (for me) of listening a couple of times before I start to "get" the songs and the album as a whole. Its quite rare and album leaps out straight away

Future Of The Left - the plot against common sense. By a mile.

I haven't really listened to much released this year though if I'm honest. New Muse album is meh. Some good songs though.

A few of my favourites from 2012;
Jack White - Blunderbuss
Gaslight - Handwritten
Lawless soundtrack
OFF! - self-titled
Hot Water Music - Exister
Fay Hield and the Hurricane Party - Orfeo
Sam Carter - The No Testament
Carolina Chocolate Drops - Leaving Eden
Band Of Skulls - Sweet Sour

Don't think I've bought any albums that have turned out to be total shit this year. I was slightly disappointed with Slash's second solo album though. If what I've heard of the new Green Day stuff is any indication then their latest album is fucking terrible.

Forgot about Band of Skulls. Some quality stuff on that but think the first album was better

My favourite has been Rival Sons - Head Down.

Picking a least favourite would be like shooting drug wrecked zombies in a dubsteb show, just too many to choose from.
Oh, how can, how can you ask me again?
It only brings me sorrow.
The same thing I want from you today,
I would want again tomorrow.

Chuck Ragan - Covering Ground
Jim Lockey & TSS - Death
John K Sampson - Provincial

don't have a worst one, I don't have enough cash to just buy stuff without having an idea of what I'm buying.

The list of what I KNOW I want is already huge... and I will have to wait for the cash to buy that before I start buying stuff just to see if maybe I might like it. I have an equally huge list of Cd's i want to replace my cassettes - yes I am that old :-)
