Any Frank Fans in Southampton??

Post by Iwillnotgrowup » Sat Oct 06, 2012 8:31 pm

This is a bit sad but is there any Frank fans in Southampton who want to hang out occasionally??

I'm a 36 year old bloke and it seems that all my mates are now settled down with girls and families. I done that in my 20s and now I'm single and a bit lost.

I don't act 36 and I think Im pretty cool, pierced, tattooed, big bearded, obsessed with Frank, The Gaslight Anthem and Bruce Springsteen. Into mainly folk/rock/metal.

I like pubs, rock/metal clubs, gigs, eating out, riding my mountain bike, converting my vw van into a camper.

Fuck me, that sounds like a dating profile.... anyway would be cool to hang out with any boy or girl Frank fans if anybody is interested??

Hey, I got a 96 T4. Bought it as a basic builders panel van in June and slowly turning it into a camper. Hope to have it done by the spring so I can get to some festivals in it next summer.

I would love a van like yours, just can't afford one....

It's not definite but I've been thinking of going to see Retrospective Soundtrack Players this Friday at the Chichester Inn. I'm married & most of our friends' children are in their 20s - it was one of them who recently got me interested in live music & Frank - which is a way of saying I'm not dating potential & older than 36. :)

So if you turn up I'm happy to chat.

EDIT FRI 12th - not well enough to go out tonight

Hey,

Thanks to everyone that replied to my original post but shortly after l posted it my laptop broke and I have only just got a replacement, so I wasn't being rude not replying!!

Anyway, still looking for local Frank friends. The Southampton guildhall and 2 joiners shows were amazing, I'm sure anybody else there would agree!!

I would suggest going to see Jim Lockey and the Solemn Sun on the 4th Feb at the Joiners, lots of like minded people there etc!

Hey, I was at the back at the matinee Joiners show, my husband leaning against the wall, behind the sound desk. Wonder if you were close by. That was my husband's first FT gig & he thought Frank was great.

Um.... I would say that you were pretty much stood next to me then. I was stood with 3 of my mates against the wall, behind the sound desk. I was the one with the stupid long beard singing along at the top of my voice. Frank was great as usual!!

Not sure if you saw the evening show as well but personally the matinee one was a better experience for me. Frank was amazing in both but sections of the crowd at the evening gig showed a lack of respect by just chatting amongst themselves when Frank was playing!!

Sorry I didn't reply to your last post. I remember you! We didn't stay for the 2nd gig in fact it was quite nice to be home by 8pm. Felt like luxury being driven there & back & we were able to park so close. It was the easiest journey I've done to a gig. I was lucky to get tickets for the matinee especially as he played Balthazar which I hadn't heard live before.
