********************************UPDATE*************************************

OK guys. This update comes with 2 provisos, one of which I'm pretty sure I've understood & the other of which is how it's gonna be unless the entry is edited!!!!!!

Firstly, Tim Kelly - Thank you for coming back to me. I've assumed you listed it in accordance with my request so Balthazar Impresario is you favourite song & it was awarded 10 points which I believe was your intention working down to 1 point for 'Hold Your Tongue' please inform me if that's not correct.

Secondly, bobbyrooney! A valiant attempt to sneak 11 songs past me, but this is what I'm gonna do - The Real Damage has been awarded 8 points, The Road 7, in the order you listed them despite your attempt to make them equal! Love Ire & Song got 1 point as the tenth song listed & sorry but nil points for Live Fast, Die Old! You may edit your vote if you wish in accordance with the rules set at the outset. I'm not giving FRank a spreadsheet with anything other than sets of 10 songs on it I'm afraid, so there's no point trying to get it past me.

Any entries that don't meet the criteria I decided on will simply be taken in the order I decide is appropriate or simply not included!

So if I've understood Tim correctly & if bobbyrooney makes no further amendment, the current leaderboard after 51 votes is :

1) I Am Disappeared with 236 points (I wonder does Frank appreciate how popular this one is?)
2) I Knew Prufrock Before He Got Famous with 147 points
3) Rdemption with 146 points
4) I Still Believe with 132 points
6) Photosynthesis with 130 points (I really expected this to be leading)
6) The Ballad Of Me & My Friends also with 130 points
7) Balthazar Impresario with 125 points
8) Father's Day with 106 points
9) LOve, Ire & Song with 101 points
10)Long Live The Queen with 87 points

Casanova Lament was a 'new entry' in the latest list with 6 points straight in at no 67 ot the 77 songs names so far!

Tell Tale Signs continues to just hold onto it's place in the Top 20 for now.

I like that you're ruling this poll with an iron fist! Can someone work out song that's have no points at all? :)

 Well, I'm not saying cos it's a right pain you know where when someone adds a new one in & I have to change the spreadsheet!

Beginning to look like that's it now (we had a push from 'Backstreets' website yesterday re my Bruce poll & that's nearly up to 550 votes now as a result. Thank God I'm not doing the results for that one!)

Made this list a while ago but didn't get round to writing reasons. The order is arbitrary.

    3) Ballad
    4) Live Fast, Die Old
    5) Jet Lag
    6) Love Ire & Song

Hello everyone and hi Bossman - another Springsteen fan here. Got into FT earlier this year through YouTube and looking forward to my first gig at Wolverhampton next month.

Here's my top 10 with a few comments -

1. Prufrock - fun song - infectious exuberance - look forward to singing along to this one - "the only thing that's left to do is live"

2. Photosynthesis - love the video of Frank and the band "teaching the kids how to rock"

3. I Still Believe - someone once said that a great rock song just needs one great line. The rest of the song can just lead up to that one line. Well how about "Just remember folks, we're not just saving lives, we're saving souls, we're having fun"?

4. Redemption - this song is full of classic Springsteen themes - guilt, redemption, fathers and sons, is love real? What stops it being a Springsteen parody for me is the emotion with which it is played and sung. Unless that is part of the parody as well (?) :D

5. If I Ever Stray - love how this song builds - real power after a quiet start

6. Try This At Home - love the ethos of this

7. Vital Signs - just like this one

8. Wessex Boy - must strike a chord with anyone who has moved a long way from home. I grew up in Cornwall and would love to move back one day. "There's something about coming back to your hometown again."

9. Reasons Not To Be An Idiot - just good fun - always makes me smile

10. Dan's Song - great harmonica solo!

No posts in almost a week, but i joined the forums and thought i'd input here. However hard that was :/

1. Love, ire and Song
2. Long live the Queen
3. Try this at home
4. I knew Prufrock
5. Wessex Boy
6. Ballad of me & my friends
7. The Real Damage
8. Peggy sang the blues
9. Reasons not to be an idiot
10. Imperfect tense

Most of these songs become favourites because I play guitar, and me and my friends butcher them... But we have fun!

This was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be - so many great songs.

1. I Am Disappeared - Always makes me feel better when I'm down.
2. Song For Eva Mae - Simply beautiful - wish my godfather had written (or said) something like that to me when I was younger.
3. Long Live the Queen - Best tribute I ever heard, still moves me every time I hear it.
4. I Knew Prufrock Before He Got Famous - "But it's pretty clear he's vital to the whole damn operation" sums it up.
5. St Christopher Is Coming Home - Perfectly describes my relationship to my friends in my hometown. And the line "I've been busy so much lately that every time I get some time to spend I end up drunk or sleeping in" is almost too close for comfort.
6. To Take You Home - The first FT song I heard. Loved it straight away.
7. Hold Your Tongue - So moving.
8. The Ballad of Me and My Friends - Simply amazing.
9. The Next Round - I almost choked when I first heard this song, it's definitely too close for comfort but I can't not listen to it.
10. The Fastest Way Back Home - Best love song ever written.
