Olympics- Sailor's Boots

Post by Russ67 » Mon Jul 30, 2012 9:52 am

Anyone got a link to Sailors Boots from Friday ?

Giles Coren said this on twitter at the time: "some loonie's grabbed the microphone and started singing children's nursery rhymes with a banjo - G4s really should get their act together." At the time it didn't make sense but now it kinda does.

I think I recorded it on my phone, but I doubt it is of any decent quality as we undoubtedly talked all the way through it and I was a bit tipsy so it's probably wobbly.

Haha, that's brilliant.

I find it strange that everyone at the ceremony heard this relative rarity - I've never heard that one live!

my main interest is whether it was a banjo or not ! banjitar maybe.. but I'm sure others would appreciate it if Evan can upload.

If it was a banjo I hope someone does a youtube on how to play it 5 string bluegrass style. I need another party piece and Beverley Hillbillies is getting a bit worn...

I may well have imagined it, but I think it might have been a specific request from Danny Boyle... Appears he is a genuine fan of Frank and knew all about b-sides, old albums, etc.

Anyone end up finding an actual clip? It's something I really want to hear!
