I was just curious as to what everyone's favorite Frank Turner lyrics were and why?

"No one gets remembered for things they didn't do." - Serious tattoo material right there.

It doesn't quite work as well out of context but I like "the only thing that doesn’t seem to kill that still makes me smile".

That and "But oh, what I would give, not to stumble but to really fall in love".

It is a prime candidate - surely someone must already have it, maybe I'll go have a look through the facebook tattoo photo album to check. As for me, my favourite, and that which will actually become tattoo material in 4 weeks time, is "Who'd've thought, that after all, something as simple as rock n' roll would save us all."

I'm slightly concerned about the punctuation, can anyone tell me if that is correctly punctuated? If I had an incorrectly punctuated tattoo it would drive me insane.
SHould it be "Who'd have"???

From the lyrics page: "Now who’d've thought, that after all, something as simple as rock ‘n’ roll would save us all?"

Don't forget the two apostrophes on the 'n' as well.

edit: though the lyrics page missed out the "that"

I cant seem to decide on which lyrics i want for my tattoo. Im going for a half sleeve so i want a picture that relates to the lyrics. Kind of like the pirate ship with "worse things happen at sea". Except something 5632 people dont already have. Any suggestions?

I couldn't resist replying when I saw your plea for help. :-) All too rare for people to care these days, but I feel the same way!

I'd put "Who'd have thought". Whether or not it needs a question mark is another issue... I'm pretty sure there isn't one in the official lyrics [I'm not going back to check], so I guess not, since it's probably meant to be a rhetorical question.

As for my favorites, there are so many...but for now, I'll limit myself to:

"But oh, what I would give/not to stumble but to really fall in love", "If you're all about the destination/then take a fucking flight", "I could've played safe/but in the end, the journey's brought joys/that outweigh the pain","And on the worst days/when it feels like life weighs ten thousand tons/I sleep with my passport/one eye on the back door/so I can always run", "I still believe in the need/for guitars and drums and desperate poetry" [my first tattoo] and "I face the horizon/The horizon is my home" [my next tattoo].
Brevity is not my forte.

I love the lyrics to I Really Don't Care What You Did On Your Gap Year.

This verse from Try This At Home is another personal favourite;

Because there's no such thing as rock stars
There's just people who play music
And some of them are just like us
And some of them are dicks

I like how blunt, and very true, it all is.

My new favourite lyrics are from Polaroid Picture

So let go of the little distractions
hold close to the ones that you love
cos we won't all be here this time next year
so while you can take a picture of us.

With a lot of my friends moving away soon it's hitting home pretty hard.
I'd rather be the one who loves than to be loved and never even know.

I heard polaroid picture for the first time at the Chicago show on wednesday and it was amazing.

I really like the lyrics from I am disappeared and Journey of the magi. The 2nd hardest part is figuring out the main part of the tattoo that relates to the lyrics and is frank turner related.

Such a difficult decision.

This.
And 'Every day I spend pretending that I always choose the right path is a day that I choose the wrong.'

Let's grab life by the throat and then live it to pieces

On the phone, you always ask if I’m OK, but it’s not the same as being happy.

Once more to the boards, one more curtain call,
Give the crowd everything they’re asking for and more.
Always make them laugh, try to make them cry,
Always take the stage like it’s the last night of your life.

Oh my friend loneliness, where have you been? You left me to the lure of a lover who left me alone. And now you come crawling back, and I’ll let you in, and we’ll slip back into grooves that we cut in ourselves long ago.

And so I never knew loss because I had nothing to lose, choice because I had nothing to chose. But oh, all the things you do, the way that you close your door, the way that you guard your shores… Darling I’m coming home soon.

Some of these don't work as tattoos, I'll admit. Unless you want a fucking paragraph on your arm or something.

'get another round in at the bar' would work as a tattoo - could come in useful when you're trying to drop a hint to a mate
Shows? nowhere near enough of 'em!
