Oooh, just found, it's GTalk/GoogleChat. Immense. I thought you meant the Hangout thing.

Is Hangout just exclusively videochat?

Yes, group videochat. Chat on the left side is text chat, video (person to person) available though.

the android and iPhone apps are out now, so maybe it'll start taking off. i did a "huddle" last night - like a group chat thing that goes straight to your phone - which could be useful if more people used it...

It really just needs numbers on there now.

If you used Diaspora, it's what it suffered from. Nice to be able to add through your gmail.

It's busier than it was, I was in the first raft of non-Google users as an employee sent me an invite. Uselss as they hadn't even opened registration though.

I've just started using it. Seems very few others are doing the same. The hangout feature is really quite good. Collective Youtube video watching is good fun.

Okay so, now that Google + is open to everybody, how's it going for those of you who have it? I'm still trying to get into this new thing but it looks everything but busy right now...

I don't like it and haven't used it since about the first week. I still just don't get what it's there for. Also people keep adding me and I have absolutely no idea who they are.

That's often the case, I don't like adding this way either, but on the other hand it is the only way to get people in your 'circles' if there are no many people you know on there, so this doesn't surprise me.
