hahahaha...I actually need him to help me out as it goes. Just with little things, like when I need to pee, someone needs to look after the baby and stuff like that. Her Grandparents are taking her off our hands on saturday afternoon, so realistically we only have to get through about 24 hours tops of festival babysitting and then we can get slaughtered.

I'll be fulfilling role of 'responsible adult number two' for 24 hours, daunting but achievable.

It will be fun. I promise. And if it isn't, I'll ply you with booze

Indeed. I would prefer it not to be TOO hot, but rain+mud+pushchair = nightmare

With winter closing in downunder the festival season came to an end over easter with the Byron Bay bluesfest, got to see Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, Fistful of mercy, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, ZZ top, Ben Harper, BB king and heaps more. Introduced to some cool new stuff by the Aggrolites, Kim Churchill, Trombone shorty, Ernest Raglin and The Transvaal Diamond Syndicate.
Out of all the fests in Australia this is the perfect one for Frank to play, lots of diversity, all ages crowd and goes for over 5 days in the beautiful Byron hinterland

Only other fest i got to this summer was Soundwave, didnt see much of the main stage headliners but High on Fire, Melvins, Bronx, Gang of 4 and Slayer made it a worthwhile day out.

If i was back in the UK I would love to get to the `beatiful days` in Devon. Although i never got there in the past the line up always looks apealing. Add Bloodstock and ATP and i think that would be my choice of UK festivals

anyone else going to Beautiful Days festival? My rather awesome wife bought tickets for my birthday present. I'm super-excited about seeing Carter USM, PWEI and Tim Minchin!

It's not the Poppies. It's Graham, Mary Byker and three other dudes. They have a new album in October with this line-up too. I am not sure how I feel about it. Am waiting to see footage from Beautiful Days before committing to a ticket for their tour in October.

First of all I should say that after somewhat of an absence from these boards for a while, I got more confused than I should have simply by Evan's new avatar picture, or should I say lack of the old one - I never realised that damn panda would be such forum landmark for me!

That aside and back on-topic, I did Glasto and will be going to one day (Sunday ofc) of Reading (I agree with a couple of people on here that Reading has got seriously rubbish now, mostly because of the people rather than the line-ups necessarily, but those have also suffered).

I also worked at 2000 Trees (I was stage managing the Leaf Lounge - very disappointed that Frank broke his promise to 2000 Trees already though!) and will be managing the second stage (Quarry stage) at Y-Not this weekend - anyone going?
