All new misheard song lyrics

Post by smige2 » Tue Aug 03, 2010 8:00 pm

I made a thread a long time ago about misheard FT lyrics, inspired by the popular misinterpretation of Fathers Day...
...With lies and flimsy alibis, for your suspicious sex positions
That thread has gone to forum heaven, but I thought it would be fun to make another since Poetry of the Deed and other new songs have subsequently been released.

When I first heard POTD's title track, I thought it went:
But you voted their way...and come outside and play
More disturbing was this line from Sons of Liberty:
I'd rather stand up naked against the yellow men alone/than give the hollow men the right to enter in my home
:|

I also thought it was "yellow man" - it seemed absurd but I couldn't work out what else he could possibly be saying, I assumed it must be a really old quote.

That was what I heard him singing as well.

I'm sure I've misheard another lyric apart from the obvious "invisible llama" from Reasons, but I can't remember what it was now and its gonna bug me.

What?? It's not this ...

...With lies and flimsy alibis, for your suspicious sex positions.

It must be surely. I refuse to believe it's anything else. I mean suspicious expeditions fits, but in comparison is pretty lame.

Same here. I had to check the lyrics booklet, and it seems it's "risks" instead of "wrists".

And now I don't quite understand what that whole sentence means. It would make more sense with "wrists".

True. In the context of the song the proper lyrics make much more sense. I'm just going to have to accept that I've been singing this wrong for quite some time!! :?
