Got Borderlands for Christmas, completed it yesterday.

As awesome as the game is the ending is a bit bollocks. Hopefully the zombie DLC will redeem that.

Yeah, the ending wasn't great. When it comes to the DLC though, I'm doubtful. I don't think it'll really be worth the spend.

So, anybody get any games for Christmas?

I wanted little else, so I ended up getting 8 games (and a few shirts):
- Batman: Arkham Asylum
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 1 + 2
- Dead Space
- Dragon Age: Origins
- GTA IV
- Psychonauts
- Wolfenstein

Finished Batman: Arkham Asylum and Modern Warfare 2 in neglect of revision so far, both brilliant games.

I got:

- Dead Space
- Dragon Age: Origins
- Borderlands (not a gift, however)

That's about it.

I'm yet to play Dead Space but I've played Dragon Age and Borderlands a fair amount. Dragon Age is particularly good. My only issue being that the game is heavily biased towards magic users and archers are really shit/dull.

Anyone got DS game recommendations? Japanese ones especially welcome. Educational reasons.

I hear Scribblenauts is awesome. As for Japanese ones, Dragon Quest is meant to be one of the best, in Japan it regularly outsells Final Fantasy, or so I'm told.

Got a PS3, Modern Warfare 2 and Little Big Planet.

Also bought FIFA 09 (for £2.98!), GTA IV, and Assassin's Creed 2 in the sales.

I got my sister Scribblenauts for her birthday and she loves it (but also frustrated by it in equal measure).

I have just completed Dead Space for the PS3 using just the plasma cutter. Nice.

Know what you mean. I'm playing through it at the moment, and don't really feel the need to use anything other than the cutter. Plenty of ammo and power. I did buy the saw weapon to give it a go, but will probably re-sell that, since it's near enough useless. Isn't there an achievement or something for getting through with just the cutter on PS3 (there aren't PC equivalents of achievements, unfortunately)?

Just finished Wolfenstein. A great FPS, if a little generic. But once you've gone through, you can use a cheat menu on any following playthroughs, one of which replaces everybody's heads with pumpkins, which provides much comedy.

Yeah, you get a gold trophy! Woo!

The ripper isn't that bad a gun I think. Useful when you're overwhelmed but badguys as you can just flail it about and take off a fair few of their limbs without really trying.

A fully juiced up plasma cutter is more than adequate for anything though..

Aliens vs Predator is out next month and yesterday I found they're releasing this:
Image

It features:
Alien Vs Predator Game in steelbook packaging
4 multiplayer maps - docks, outpost, machine & hive
Replica facehugger model
Weyland-Yutani patch
3D lenticular post card

The Facehugger's legs are apparently fully moveable, meaning you can actually have it hug someone's face, all of that for the tidy sum of £59.99, only an extra £20. Ordered.
