Anyone see buzzcocks tonight? Preston was on, and Amstell started reading some comical extracts from Chantelle's book. Preston took exception and stormed off. Bill Bailey grabbed a bloke from the audience who looked a bit like Preston and sat him in Preston's seat for the rest of the show. The poor guy did pretty well, and was even listed as a "Special Guest" in the credits.

Yeah good show and Fyfe from Guillemots was on Bill's team looking really nervous, so funny when they were talking about the bass note to give a girl an orgasm...."F♯ HURHURHUR!"

Going to the theatre tonight to see 'The Vortex'. It has Will Young in it, oooh. I do love the Royal Exchange theatre.

Ha ha, you're lucky for not being IDd. The guy at the Borderline didn't want to believe my old passport or my new passport. I might look young, but it's a passport for fuck's sake.

Essentially, once you show a doorman some ID that doesn't appear to be obviously fake, the legal liability for your actions if you are under age transfers from them to you, you risk getting fraud charges and possession of counterfeit documents, etc, whilst they can protect their premises and operating licenses, and avoid legal charges altogether.

So, any doorman that still turns you away after you show them ID, whether or not he thinks it might be fake, is fucking jobsworth.

However, it's best not to explain this to them on the door, they don't like it. As I've found out.

The problem with doormen of course, is that they get paid to be a cunt, and most of them can do it for free, so with the extra motivation of money, they can really take it to town.

that buzzcocks episode was greta, don't know why Preston was so grouchy. I saw Hot Fuzz yesterday, thought it was great, better than Shaun of the Dead.

Ha ha I just met Will Young. Did it for a laugh, he kept people waiting for ages, then came over and seemed really shy, signed stuff and wouldn't have any photos taken.

He played some classic cheesy dance music. And some actual good songs.

Fun night.

Getting a new passport was one of the worst experiences of my life.

NEVER AGAIN.
