I got Bill Bailey's Tinselworm for 80 pence from woolworths and my Cousin a nice jacket for a quid.

The nearest Zavvi store to me was one of the first to close down so i never got a chance to abuse their financial difficulties.

In other news, I'm going to grow/cut myself a mullet. My hair is long enough at the moment but its kinda permy. So don't know what its gonna look like. Obviously its going to look amazing but how amazing. Awesomely amazing or epicly amazing. hmmmmm........

I got 28 Buster Keaton DVDs for £1.59, Fargo for £1.59 and Simpsons for 50p, from work mind so not in relation to shops closing down. I've never watched any Buster Keaton films or Fargo but know that both are meant to be awesome.

I did however buy a Joy Division calender from Card Fair as it was closing down yesterday in my local shopping centre for £1, down from £5.99.

Not sure if I'm being idiotic or just missing the info, but I can't seem to see anywhere online what time this live lounge thing will be on...can anyone shed some light on this?! Cheers!

Oh and I just re-watched the Reuben DVD. An hilarious experience if ever there was one. Such a shame they split up.

Returning to the Zavvi topic... Not quite as successful as i'd hoped, the 4 copies they had of the Wire boxset had gone (2 stolen, 2 purchased, apparently - one would think if they knew someone was stealing them they may have prevented this but apparently not). I did however get Sharpe, all episodes boxset, for £20, Shameless series 1-5 for £20 and various other bits and bobs cheaply. Going to keep an eye out for the next round of discounts and head back.

Right. So is it pretty much a fact that Zavvi is fucked? I genuinley can't be arsed to research this.

Yes. They went into administration just before Christmas I believe. I think the last nail in their coffin was the loss of the distributing company that was part of woolworths, which led to them receiving no new stock...

Or something.

If I'm honest, I couldn't really give much of a toss apart from the fact that the once-awesome Tottenham Court Road branch will now probably be sold off. Used to be a hell of a place: guitar shop underneath with all the most pointlessly expensive guitars, a coffee shop, and a Jazz lounge upstairs... and literally around the corner from Denmark Street etc.

Awesome.

Not to mention the signings they sometimes had.
