Ha! I was at this gig, fucking good night and Xtra Mile's 1st birthday party if I remember rightly.

In my completely unrelated note.....Last night I dreamt (somebody loved me) that Morrissey died, I was GUTTED. But then I woke up and then realised it was rubbish. So silly 'lol'

Oh and I just heard the Comic Relief single:

Girls Aloud vs Sugababes - Walk This Way HEHHEHEH....its not too bad, but it might get overplayed like alot of them charity singles do.

Stage invasion rocked face. Frank played Sunshine State as an encore, which was really really good. Beans on Toast was lots of fun too. Bloody good show!

What I learned today: Never eat a cake baked by a monotonic logician.

If you tell a monotonic logician the following:
"If you put sugar and butter and eggs and chocolate powder and flour into a cake, it will taste nice",

then the monotonic logician could quite easily make you a cake from sugar, butter, eggs, chocolate powder, flour, soap, engine oil, hair clippings, etc, etc.

Technically the monotonic logician put all the things you asked for into the cake, and by monotonic logical deduction, from what you've told them, the cake should taste nice.

Seconded.

Wish I'd seen the Damien Rice-a-like you were saying was on beforehand, but Frank ranting about music > crappy singer-songwriter.

no, you really don't. trust mel, you had a lucky escape.
i'd rather see i am ghost again.

apart from that the gig was a whole heap of fun. i thought the band stuff was much better live than on record, even the stuff i wasn't 100% sold on did it for me. lots of good singing along too.
however, if there's a next time i'm gonna try and pinch myself a sofa for the night, that floor gets a bit chilly.

You did have half a sofa, but you tried to be too greedy and have a footrest as well, leading you to lose your place on the sofa.

Looks like my microphone is officially fucked...

http://www.hippieburner.com/fucked%20mic.mp3 - as evidenced at the xfm show. only the left channel, so at least it can be 'mono' without distortion.

Guess I'll have to go waste £50 or more on a new one.........

The outlet is decorated to drive home its message. Along with the large Terror-Free signs, the pumps display a diagram of how the owners believe unscreened fuel funds the enemies of the US.

Perhaps most emotive is the TFO's logo, which combines the twin towers, the Pentagon and the United 93 designation of the fourth 9/11 plane.
So good.

Got chatted up by some old biddy in work today who told me I look like a "more handsome, thinner faced David Platt off Corrie", don't know how to feel about that really considering I don't watch Corrie.

Yeah, I was reading this and thinking how the main towns to both the North and South of me have been voted the noisiest, which essentially makes Durham the cool calm centre of the universe. lollercaust.

Its was phenomenal and the new tracks sound really exciting. At the end they came out in the crowd behind us and everybody circled them whilst they played Wake Up without any amplification for an encore.
The venue was gorgeous too (chandeliers!).
This is the hall but last night it was without all the tables:
