This week, and in particular today, can literally fuck right off.

I hate the majority of the male species and chemistry right now.

Just got a rejection email from a job having spent pretty much a week mulling over the application and planning what to write and a whole weekend putting it together.
If this carries on much longer I'm going to fucking run away and splooge my savings all over America for a few months.

I think I'll join you, if I had any savings that is. Instead I'd sell my house and use my tiny redundancy package.

I second this (apart from the America part). Spent all xmas and new year preparing and worrying about a presentation for a job interview (which I had more than enough skills and experience for) and still didn't get the job. Likewise with apps that take ages.

Not just me then. I've been applying for loads of jobs over the last 6-8 weeks and don't seem to be getting close. All jobs pretty much identical to the one I've been doing for the last 3 years plus. Hell it seems so competitive out there.

The idea of disappearing out of the country for a little while is becoming ever more appealing.

I'm thinking the occupants of Britain should operate a system along the lines of: 'Look Britain, I'm going to elsewhere for a bit, and when I come back I want this mess all cleared up, or you can't see America this weekend, mmmk? :) '

Today I have mostly been discovering that it probably would have been wise to use a face mask when using uni bond shower and bathroom sealant. Fucking hell.

Not bad news for me on the job front. Found out that as long as I pass my finals, I will be doctoring in Taunton next year and then Bristol the year after.

Wasn't my top choice, which was Cheltenham and Gloucester, but pretty happy with that nonetheless. Just making it all very real suddenly..

Hope the other assorted medics on here didn't fare too badly either!

Well done Mark.
Mine are not too bad - Derby then Mansfield (I plan to live in Derby for both).

I'm doing general medicine, general surgery and ENT in F1, then A&E, GUM and GP in F2.

Hope you got good rotations!

Plus, I don't have finals which is a relief, mostly just box-ticking this year.

Thankyou Peter. I think thats the nicest thing you've ever said to me..

And blimey MP, that's about as general as you could get for placements but a good mix though.

I got endocrine, GI surgery and A&E and then orthopaedics, cardiology and MAU. Nice mix as well but all very acute. I also have no idea about endocrine so that could be interesting..
