well done you two!! great news.

my only advice for uni would be: don't waste any time sleeping. ever. do everything. (sleep is for the summer, unless you work at the department of health).

I'm really excited but the 'Material Studies' bit WILL be difficult - there's a module called "Science for Art Historians" My interview was crazy, the "painting analysis unit" lady basically said "I got this the other week. Know nothing about it yet. How would you go about finding out when and where it was painted?"
But the fun part is that I get to mix pigments with oil and paint reproductions to learn about the "methods and materials of artists" :D

I'm glad you think so!
As far as I know, UCL are the only institution in the world which offers 'HAMS' :) the painting analysis unit lady works for the major British auction houses (Christie's, Sotheby's) checking whether the paintings they auction are originals. AMAZING.

don't do this if you plan to end up applying for a decent graduate job. they will ask for your entire breakdown.

honestly, it's not difficult to do fuck all in your first year and still get a 2.1.

Colwyn Bay is awful.
