Cursive - Semantics...

Can someone like Nick or Robmcburger please start posting in this thread again please.

Also; who found that massive cache of 'emo' stuff on mediafire or whatever it was? Archers of Loaf/Cap'n Jazz etc. Was that BenMD?

That was me, I can't remember what the link was I'm afraid. The link is on here somewhere, if you're arsed enough to search.

Haven't been posting because i've been dedicating myself night and day to finding a leak of the new National record.

Btw, if you like Cursive etc. my band are recording a 7" single on Sunday that you'll probably be like!

I'm listening to The Fire Show. "Post-punk" from the early 00s, with weird electronics and sing/speak vocals delivered without the slightest hint of a sense of humour.

The "You Are My Sunshine" cover at the end of the album is particularly harrowing.

Rob, are your band actually going to make a 7" out of it? But it'll be downloadable anyway, yeah?

Yeah, we're going to do a limited run on a DIY label my brother is setting up, but have MP3's as well. Doing the recordings live with a guy we know who's recorded a bunch of Manchester bands with really cool analogue equipment, and we're going to record the vocals seperate.

Pumped. Although I, personally, think we're recording one of our weaker tracks as part of it. But oh well!

Yeah that's what we usually do. Recorded another one on Sunday that's going to be on a tape split (punk as fuck) with another Nottingham band. It's got gang chants in it (also punk as fuck).

Keep me up to date then Rob!

I do really like the new album... but it's still not exceeded the first for me, yet. The first one was more the lyrical style I'm in to - the stage where artists still sing in a literal sense before getting all symbolic/metaphorical on our asses.

Very good album though. Rambling Man is a fantastic song.
