Re: UK pre sale

Faulksp wrote:So we order the CD and then wait for a code ....is that how it works ?
Don't know about UK but when I ordered in the States I got a confirmation email saying I was eligible for the presale. At the end of the list of tour dates I found my code. Success! It definitely took some hunting... Good Luck!

Re: Non-Frank Gigs

Vaccines were great at Gentlemen of the Road. I debated whether or not to see them Sunday at 9:30 Club but it didn't work out. I've seen them a few times and am also enjoying the new album. Planning to see The Maccabees at U Street Theater this Saturday. Looking forward to seeing them as headliners ...

Re: Non-Frank Gigs

Went to Gentlemen of the Road Stopover last weekend. I wish I'd known the Macabees before, my loss! Alabama Shakes were great. For me the lowlight was the Flaming Lips. The spectacle of confetti and a giant hamster ball definitely didn't make up for the mediocre music. I also find a frontman spendin...

I'm thrilled to read the live 9:30 Club version of Josh's Song/Half Past Nine ...

Re: Distraction Pieces Podcast

There are always those people who make their way to the front when they only know a handful of songs that they can sing along and/or dance to. The same people run their mouths for the rest of the set. Like SusanneD said if you just can't help yourself, go to a corner in the back of the room or the b...

Re: NEW GIG

I thought this was some muppet who thought we might be interested in his gigs, rather than one of Franks. As in, misguided into thinking he could build the suspense for the Geordies and then they would all come out, so better stick it under two forum headings just in case. A new candidate for The T...

Looks fantastic and I'm jealous. Should folks in the U.S get their hopes up for anything similar or will your schedule only allow for U.K book related appearances?

Re: Conspiracy?

Forgive me for reviving this, but, do those hoopi ear candles really work at clearing your ears? No. Oft debunked. They produce just as much wax / "toxin" residue if you burn them on their own, nowhere near anyone's ear. Damn! Guess the idea of limited edition, authenticated pressings of Frank Turn...

Re: Non-Frank Gigs

The Decemberists were mind-blowingly good at Brixton Academy tonight. As Colin Meloy pointed out, "You know it's a great show when your drummer has to ask where one of his shoes has gone". High points were a storming version of '16 Military Wives' and a breathtaking 'Carolina Low' from the latest a...

Book ?

Hello,

Can you reveal if there are any other plans for book related appearances or is the Books are the New Vinyl panel at SXSW festival a one time thing? Thanks!

Re: A Hardcore (music not porn) Film

Curious if you've heard about the film "Salad Days"? There's a screening in D.C and it looks like there may be a wider release in the Spring. I included a description I copied from D.C venue The Black Cat's website. "Salad Days is a documentary film that examines the early DIY punk scene in the Nat...
