Re: Lex and Peggy

No kidding! I always thought Peggy was a contemporary. Thanks for clearing that up.

Cheers!

Lex and Peggy

Are they the same person? Beautiful tribute to your friend/friends either which way.

Cheers!

Turn the Page

Hi Frank. I just want to thank you for this amazing version of a great song I discovered via the Metallica cover, which led the local NYC classic rock station to start playing the original incessantly back in the day. I was fortunate enough to be in the audience in Detroit for this show last Novembe...

Re: San Francisco: The perfect warmup gig for Coachella

Hi Frank. Thanks for the speedy reply. Hardy Strictly Bluegrass is a free three day music festival in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, generally in the first week of October. The festival is a gift to the city by billionaire music fan Warren Hellman, who paid for everything out of pocket. It start...

San Francisco: The perfect warmup gig for Coachella

Just saying :) Also, are you aware of the splendid free Hardly Strictly Bluesgrass festival in Golden Gate Park every early October? I caught your mate Billy Bragg's set there last year. You'd be a perfect fit.

Re: Best Gigs of 2013

Metz with White Lung opening, May 3rd 2013, in some basement place in Vancouver BC. Was in town for the weekend and just looking for some live music and happened across this show. Regional Canadian punk bands with awesome energy, crowd really into it. First time moshing in years, forgotten how much ...

SLC Punk!

Hi Frank! Happy belated birthday. Have you seen this gem of a movie from the mid '90'? It's absolutely spectacular. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DILdeHgWF-U Incidentally there is an ongoing crowd sourcing fundraising campaign going on to help get the sequel - SLC 2 Punk's Dead - made. I'm sure a R...

Fall 2013 North America Date Back Shirts

I am kicking myself for not picking up a tour shirt with the dates on the back at either of the shows I went to this fall (two of some of the best shows of my life for the record). Searches of the interwebs have been fruitless in turning them up. Is there any way to buy a surplus one at this point? ...

Re: Would anyone be interested in...? (Bootlegs n stuff)

Hi all, I'm over in the States and cannot for the life of me find the Buddies EP that Frank did with Jon Snodgrass a few years back. Although my internet skills are not the best, I can't seem to find it anywhere ( I know it is available on iTunes in the UK but sadly not over here). Saw this thread a...

Re: Amelie lied to me

Thanks for your take. I really really didn't get the movie at all. Which is just one more reason why I love the song.

Amelie lied to me

Every time I hear Plain Sailing Weather I remember being in my crappy NYC apartment years ago, angrily ejecting Amelie from DVD player about halfway through the movie and screaming (at least inside my head) "Why do so many people love this insipid shit!!" This from a guy who's OCD will almost never ...

Re: Introduce Yourself

Steve, from San Francisco, CA in the US. My friend Patsy turned me on to Four Simple Words in May this, been a rabid fan since. Seen Mr. Turner twice on this latest North American tour, in SF and Detroit - some of the best live shows I've ever seen. Can't wait to see many more. Cheers!!
