Re: show 2000

Ticket Buying Anxiety now replaced by Ticket Ballot Anxiety!

I did think I was being a bit keen by entering the ballot without yet knowing date or location . . . but will travel wherever, whenever, if I get the chance!

Re: show 2000

A hometown gig in Winchester could be an option, especially if Show #1999 ends up being in Portsmouth? Which, if I'm being selfish, would be great for me as it's local . . . but unless the council is secretly planning to build Winchester Arena in the next three months, it could also see my Ticket Bu...

Re: show 2000

Hmm, if there's a Boston show and one in Cornwall to add to the mix, that'd make the Portsmouth show #1999 (I can hear the Prince cover now). So I reckon show #2000 will be in the UK and this side of Christmas. The suspense is killing me! (And am I the only one already experiencing twangs of Ticket ...

Re: UK tour dates announced....

So chuffed to have got Salisbury and Portsmouth tickets. Not least when I realised that this would also make Show 2000 my show #20 - like Bobstains above, I may well be selling my vital organs/ grandmother/ first born child to get there!

Re: Any Sugestions for current songwriters?

Aimee Mann is a fantastic lyricist in my opinion (check out her albums Bachelor No 2 or Whatever for some great examples) and I also think Justin Sullivan of New Model Army is hugely underrated in that regard (if NMA's musical style isn't your thing, he also did a stunning acoustic solo album a few ...

Re: Lyrics

Thanks for posting the Mongol Horde lyrics too. After an argument that's been running for the last two years, I can finally prove to my friend that it is indeed Keith Richards who's the T-1000, and not (oh dear) Cliff Richard . . .

Re: Will Varley

I was at the Joiners show too, and there were definitely a lot of familiar faces from FT gigs, which was lovely to see. Will was as amazing as ever, and I agree, the audience set the mood just right. I went with a friend who'd never seen him before (the fifth newbie I've taken to his shows - dammit,...

Re: Union Chapel, London - December 19th

It was a spectacular end to a great year of shows. The set list was perfect (so chuffed to be able to cross Front Crawl off my ever-shrinking Never Heard Live list) and, while it's always a little odd to be sitting in the pews with mugs of tea at a gig, it made for a really relaxed and festive atmos...

It's a total yay from me too, just as I'd given up all hope of getting an email. Stupidly excited for this.

Re: Union Chapel, London - December 19th

Obviously I'm stupidly excited at the possibility of seeing Frank in one of my favourite venues, so let's hope providence smiles on me in the ballot.

But can we also just take a moment to celebrate the fact that . . . BEN'S BACK! This makes me ridiculously happy.

Re: UK Tour - November

Sorry to rub it in, but having just got back from the Ally Pally show, I'm genuinely lost for words to describe how good it was. I don't think I've ever seen Frank and the band on such cracking form (despite having said something similar after the Southampton shows) and the supports were outstanding...

Re: Frank on tv now

The world's most random TV show. Frank is being a paragon of diplomacy as always, but I love his total lack of poker face . . . I strongly suspect he didn't really enjoy that squid thing, and his face when Danny Dyer started talking about aliens and ghosts was just priceless. Brightened up my Sunday...

Re: Acoustic Shows

I'd suggest it was related to where you were standing - the mix and volume sounded just fine where I was (front right). It would be a real shame to give up on FT live shows just because of one less-than-perfect experience . . .

Re: UK Tour - November

Having just got in from a spectacular first night in Southampton, I hereby decree that FT shows should be made available on the NHS. Never has my mood been lifted so much as by the Will Varley/ Skinny Lister/ Frank combo - a perfect line-up and all on cracking form. High points including finally cro...
