Re: The "Everything Is Shit" Thread

I had this bizarre midlife crisis, decided that I really did want to be a lawyer after all. I really do. I go to uni part time and work full time.

I am just so fucking overwhelmed and right at the point that I've done too fucking much to quit and have so much to go it seems like I'll never finish.

Re: Frank Turner: Sellout

Frank's right, it is the lack of joined up thinking.

"OMG lurve FTHC lurve! I TELL EVERYBODY!"

Then they tell everybody, things happen and Frank does Wembley and those same morons are all "OMG FRANK U SELOUT" (Because did you notice, most of them can't spell?)

*facepalm*

Re: Polaroid Picture

Co-incidentally, I had a Polaroid Picture breakdown myself today - I had a really good friend from the time I was in HS through my first round of college. She was my roommate and we lost touch. It's her birthday. Popped up on my Spotify list and I had a good sniffle on the train and there was defini...

Re: What is your tribe?

Thanks for the welcome, Pete. My immediate tribe is 4 cats, 2 dogs, a surly 17 year old boy and my husband. :D I relate! I guess what I meant to convey is a notion of being where you belong, and not trying to fit in. I did spend a lot of time consciously not being like everyone else - I think more l...

What is your tribe?

Hi there, I'm new. I'm also at home sick, so I was thinking about tribes - my own, other peoples. I mean, where I grew up, what worldview I have, who shares it. I also have a raging fever, so sorry if I'm barely coherent. The thing is, I growing up I didn't really have a tribe - we moved around a lo...

Re: I can't figure out which album!

Black Flag bars make me think Tape Deck Heart.

But it doesn't reconcile with the rest of the clues.

Hmm...

Mel, who spent the morning re-reading stuff about the Fisher King while nursing a cold. Thanks, Frank.

Re: Introduce Yourself

Oh hi,

I'm Mel. I'm an American expat who lives in Sydney, a 44 year old law student (yeah, I know right?) and a newish appreciator of Frank's music.

Good ta meetcha!

Re: Tattoo photos

I'm planning my first one (at 44!). I finish law school next year and I'm getting a very badass lady Justice with her sword, blindfold and scales as a grad present. I'm obsessively looking at drawings. When I have my back surgery in a few years (long story) I plan to cover the massive scars with pre...
