Re: When Did We Get So Fucking Old?

Not everyone has the option to tell the band face to face that they loved the gig they've just witnessed. It doesn't make them faceless or desperate and it doesn't make the sentiment insincere if they tweet the band to tell them instead. I also think its very interesting how even a few years ago we...

Re: Non-Frank Gigs

Spoke to Wil after and he showed me his uni-roo tattoo, which was fun. I fell in love with Wil and the SSB last fall on that tour. . Loved their sound (and once I understood what Wil was saying  ) and their lyrics. Enjoy your upcoming gigs. Strewth matey, stone the bloody crows. :) He sounds ...

So, Jameson's is not the answer?
Jameson's is always the answer, just keep going until you forget the question. :)

Re: Non-Frank Gigs

You get the best shows, darlenet. Wil Wagner was so very good - as was Pinchhitter (two guys who do something akin to magic with banjos) and Max Stern, who got off the plane from Ohio that morning and had trouble getting started because his hands were shaking from jet lag. (Oh, and possibly alcohol ...

Re: The "Everything Is Shit" Thread

My grandfather died, which, you know, was bad enough - didn't whinge about it here but it was pretty hard on me, we were very close. My father and I are estranged. My Grandaddy left my father and me his estate in equal halves. My Grandaddy said several times he wanted my son to have his silver cuffl...

Re: Non-Frank Gigs

I didn't get a chance to post, but Frightened Rabbit was a really special show. They were on for nearly two hours and played absolutely everything. The crowd was into it, the band was into it, the magic was there and it was amazing.

So much fun.

Re: Prince

Once upon a time not that long ago - maybe still a bit too long ago for some of you - even taking your camera to a show was totally against the rules. And it was prosecutable by law to make illegal recordings at shows. I remember this all too well, actually, though in the US and not the UK. It's wh...

Re: A BRAND New cd each week this year - suggestions?

You might have to look around for it (try Poison City Records in Melbourne) but Jen Buxton's Don't Change Your Plans is amazing. Please go buy so everybody knows how awesome she is. Also from Poison City, get Wil Wager from the Smith Street Band's solo album, Lakita. Also Smith Street Band - Don't ...

Given what? Has he done something precious? More information required. .....has he done something else precious lately .... But he does have a right to protect his music. I'm into that. Just because an artist (or The Artist Formerly Known As) creates something doesn't give all and sundry a right to...
