This. Didn't like them even once. All their fans seemed to wear rucksacks and do some kind of weeble dance.

Likely to be arena shows? Hoping my wife can come and see you live at last - would love her to see you up close though rather than an arena. Do you know if you are doing any warm up show(s) for Reading/Leeds a la Darlington last year?

Re: Understand..the band

Yeah I saw them once or twice. From Essex right? Good band. Southend yeah. They were great - never quite got breakthrough. One of the post hardcore bands from UK at time that couldn't win. They signed to East West so got labelled "sell out" by zine kids and didn't crossover to the "Kerrang!" market...

Understand..the band

Frank, know from recent postings and tweets that you were into the whole, and I hate to use term "emo" scene in mid/late 90s - thinking TGUK and Van Pelt etc rather than emo as it is now. Was wondering if you had heard of or indeed heard a band called Understand who where around then and seemed to s...

Not easy but here goes: 1 Redemption - just a perfect song 2 Love Ire & Song - love the lyrics and the way Frank delivers it - especially "well thats a fucking cop out!" 3 This Town Ain't Big Enough.... - Nice bluesy feel, cracking lyrics. 4 Hold Your Tongue - Just sounds very differentt o what you'...

Newcastle

Hey Frank, hope you are well after busy four weeks in US- but you are always busyand I guess you still are if you read this. Given the revelation that Mongol Horde band name came from Van Pelt's classic We Are The Heathens and given your knack for pulling out obscure covers at gigs, I don't suppose ...

Re: Mongol Horde

I stood in the front row of that sxsw show and wept like a child. I was kinda drunk. But still. Lucky man, I only caught them once at 13th Note in Glasgow in 97. I loved that time, those gigs, that scene. I miss The Van Pelt....Gonna go and dig out my Speeding Train 7". Wow - just realised the pic ...

Wow. Sultans Of Sentiment still in my top five albums of all time. "Where's That San Miguel When You Need One?"

Saw they re-formed at SXSW a few years back but not sure what Chris Leo is up to now, last time I saw him (with The Lapse) he was a bit messed up.

Mongol Horde

Hey Frank, may not be the place for this soz if it isn't. Listenening to the new songs from Mongol Horde and loving every minute - I'm a hardcore kid at heart and even though you say it's not hardcore the spirit is there. Just wondered - did you get band name from The Van Pelt song We Are The Heathe...

Refused?

Did it live up to expectations? I thought it was absolutely breathtaking. Excellent crowd. Dennis has to be the best frontman in rock at the moment.

Billy Bragg

Hello Frank, After Billy's recent support slot at Wembley do you think there is any possiblity of a collaboration. I'm a huge fan of the Bragg/Wilco "Mermaid Avenue" - Woody Guthrie project and inpaticular "All You Facists" and think it would be intriguing to see how you both worked together. I know...
