Re: Wembley Arena then Wembley Stadium!

I'm a Saints fan and I'll be at the match instead. Was a pretty big call but it's the only home game I'm going to be able to get to while I'm home from uni, and I can get a lift there. Can no longer justify trekking to London too often for shows, a couple of years ago I'd have been there in a heart...

Re: Wembley Arena then Wembley Stadium!

Not too far off topic - any Reading or Southampton fans going? I'm gutted that Southampton v Reading is on Friday evening, huge game as whoever wins will most likely win the league and be in the premiership next year. I'm a Reading fan, absolutely gutted to be missing out. But hey, it's Frank at Wem...

Re: Billy Bragg - Wembley gig

Alas, Frank doesn't play 'Thatcher Fucked The Kids' any more. He says on his site "I got bored of the song, and more specifically, I got bored of the tedious political associations that came with it. I won’t be playing it again. Sorry. Feel free to reclaim it yourself". Whilst I like the song, I can...

Re: Billy Bragg - Wembley gig

Being someone who is relatively new to Billy, what songs/albums should I listen to before the gig? I own life's a Riot with Spy Vs Spy, but that's it. Some of his most well-known songs are from that album so you can't go far wrong with that! 'The Milkman of Human Kindness' is probably my favourite ...

Billy Bragg - Wembley gig

Many of Frank's fans, me included, are naturally huge admirers of Billy's music. Inevitably, there will be some at the Wembley gig, possibly the younger crowds, who are fairly new to Billy. For these reasons I thought we should have a thread dedicated to him. It would be a great way to help those ne...

Re: Wembley

Apologies if this has been covered already, but does anyone know the running order? I heard Billy was opening, which seems a bit bizarre. I had assumed he was subbing to Frank, with Beans on Toast opening. Can anyone shed any light on this??

Re: 'Twas The NIght Before Wembley

Really interested to see what Jamie Lenman's role as master of ceremonies involves...? If he picks up a guitar and sings at any point during the night I'll be the happiest man on the planet, not sure if I can see it happening though. Reuben definitely won't be playing. Man the band were so damn good...
