Re:

Rootjoose Jesus. I had managed to wipe the memory of that band clean out of my mind Oi! Rootjoose were amazing! Bowling For Soup supported by Bloodhound Gang, Zebrahead and Army of Freshman back when I was 12. I used to work behind the bar at a venue that tour turned up at and got to watch the show...

Re: Frank Turner turned me on to...

Beans On Toast, Fake Problems, Crazy Arm, Dive Dive and Ben Marwood through support slots and Kerbdog from the Sally cover. I have been more open to Springsteen and Dylan in recent years too, having dismissed them due to my father's love of their music. I blame Frank.

Re: Top 5 gigs of 2011

Frank/Crazy Arm/Cosmo Jarvis - White Rabbit, Plymouth (The smallest venue I'll ever see Frank play and one I hope he visits again! What could be better than seeing Frank play a tiny nightclub with a stage that serves cheap booze? Why that venue being a ten minute stagger from your front door, of cou...

Songs you'd like to see played at Wembley.

Just for fun, pick an oldie, a new song, a song you know Frank has covered and a song you'd like to hear him cover that you aren't aware of him attempting. As old and new are a bit subjective, perhaps the two Three Years compilations could be used as a guide? Old: Longing for the Day New: If Ever I ...

Re: Top 5 of 2011

In no particular order...

Frank - EKMB
Kate Bush - 50 Words For Snow
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds
Adele - 21
Little Roy - Battle For Seattle (Well I liked it!)

I think they'd be the five anyway, I'm sure I have forgotten some semi-decent albums.

McAlmont and Butler and his production aside, I haven't really liked anything he has done since Suede. the mcalmont and butler album is great - i listened to it a few weeks back. some of the solo tracks are ok, stay and you light the fire in particular. Both of the McAlmont and Butler albums are br...

They did - The Tears - It was awful ..
Exactly, so it doesn't count! But hearing/seeing him launch into Animal Nitrate would be rather nice.

I need to hear Ten Storey Love Song played live before I die, so I care about the gigs!

Blur, Pulp and Skunk Anansie have helped me with other songs on my list in recent years, so I'm waiting on Catatonia to get back together, Suede to kiss and make up with Bernie and Frank to play Longing... for me.

The R1 Live Lounge cover of Greatest Day? Frank turned an incredibly naff Take That song into a thing of beauty.

As getting time off for the gig would be impossible, I had to make do with the Crazy Arm album, the tee (Which might have to get an outing for Wembley) and the signed/note copy of Sleep...

I'd have pledged for everything if I had the pennies, such a good cause :)

Football Manager. I might well have got poorer GCSE grades than I was capable of thanks to falling in love with the music Steve Lamacq and Jo Whiley played on the Evening Session. My fault entirely, but why would I want to revise for exams when I knew I'd pass them anyway and could listen to Blur/Pu...

I'm technically a Johnny come lately, having heard Long Live... on Zane Lowe's R1 show (and burst into tears whilst at work at the time) but I've thrown myself into everything Frank/Million Dead sinc...
