Anyone who may have pre-ordered the now extremly delayed Jane Doe vinyl re-issue, Kings Road have posted August 17th as the shipping date, and Deathwish are promising news this week. I wish I'd caught them on their recent tour. Apparently they've been playing stuff like Phoenix in Flight/Flames. Un...

That XX album is incredible.

Not sure what I think of that. On one hand, I enjoy those songs a lot. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure Falco has ripped the shit out of anyone who asked for them at a Future of the Left show before.

New bands playing old songs: :?

woah wait i agree on most of that but crystal castles fucking suck. I saw them support blur and they are the worse band i have ever seen! WHOA WAIT HOLD THE PHONE GUYS I saw them at Latitude before (in the woods), and they were one of the best bands all weekend. Pair of twats, mind, but that doesn'...

Hmm, really have no idea who else to see at Latitude other than Frank. Was going to see if Frightened Rabbit were any good but they clash with Frank, so won't be doing. I imagine I'll be mostly watching the comedy and theatre stuff. The National, Wild Beasts, The XX, Grizzly Bear, Yeasayer, The Big...

Welcome to team 2:1. We haven't excelled, but we at least don't have to say "It's still a pass! It's what I thought I'd get" every time.

The National - Boxer

I think the reason that it took me so long to listen to this band is that they have an utterly boring name. Book/cover/etc. I have no excuse.

Ampere. Still. Unbelievable band. My favourite bit is on the First Five Years compilation where they've put one of their 25-seconds songs twice in a row. Something about that really appeals to me but I can't quite put my finger on why. Because it's 'punk as fuck'? That'll be it. I bet they'd be goo...

Variations on Swing: 6/10, 7 at a push. (blasphemy?!) Wow. I nearly agree. Maybe a 5. I thought they were hugely over rated, but could see the attraction. Yeah, I was really into it at the time, but now I skip at least half of it. Maybe in a few years I'll just be listening to complete silence, swe...

Surely everyone knows about MMISL - the BSM guy won't shut up about them. "Meet Me in St. Louis Day"....Jesus Christ. Variations on Swing: 6/10, 7 at a push. (blasphemy?!) Just scanned the BSM band list - I quite like one or two. Talls Ships were good when I saw them, and Talons have their moments. ...
