Re: Opener / Setlist

It's funny that that article mentions Morrissey, because he's one artist that does tend to play more lesser-known material instead of the hits (apart from one or two big songs, like How Soon is Now and First of the Gang to Die, which are usually played at every gig). I saw Moz for the first time in ...

Leicester request

Really looking forward to the Leicester gig on the 12th. One song I have always loved, but have never heard live, is Romantic Fatigue. Is there any chance you could squeeze it into the setlist, maybe as one of the acoustic numbers? No worries if not, but it'd make me very happy if you could :)

My wife and I had beans on toast as first dance.
Really? Which song?

Re: I would like frank to cover..

I think Frank could do a good rendition of Dylan's 'Boots of Spanish Leather'. It ties in well with Frank's lyrical themes, particularly songs like 'Sea Legs' and 'Wanderlust'.

Re: Not that it'll affect my opinion of them...

Johnny Marr wrote all of the music for The Smiths, though - Morrissey's only musical contribution were vocal melodies. Not sure if he has more of an input his his solo work, but I imagine it's a similar arrangement.

(I love Morrissey, incidentally.)

Re: Acoustic Lakeside solo show

I think he was just saying he'd love to hear any of those songs, rather than trying to dictate the whole setlist.

Re: UK TOUR!!

Took me an hour to get standing tickets for Leicester, but I eventually managed! Looks like there might still be some available on the venue website if anyone's still trying.

Re: Glastonbury

We should start some sort of campaign to get Eavis to personally arrange for Frank to play Glasto.

Winky Face: The Mark of a Moron?

I think it can serve a valid purpose. Like adding a layer of irony to statements which would otherwise be one-dimensional.

Anyone who disagrees is a dick.

Some great songs on it, definitely a better effort than Heaven is Whenever. I think the production weakens it a bit, though.

Wherefore art thou Gene Simmons?

I've been wondering for a while what the significance of the Romeo and Juliet reference is in this song. There are two meanings you can take from 'Wherefore art thou': the popular 'Where are you' or the more accurate 'Why are you' (Juliet asking why Romeo had to be a Montague, making their love prob...
