Any NZ gigs in 2020?

I notice you're going to be at Bluesfest in NSW in April 2020. Any chance you'd be able to fit in some NZ gigs around that time, since you're going to be in our part of the world? We in Wellington would love to have you back again. Cheers, Urs (who managed to catch your solo acoustic gig at San Fran...

Re: Sister Rosetta

Emily's a guest co-host on the first episode of the podcast "Tales from No Man's Land", and she and Frank actually play "Sister, Goodbye".

So I would say that Frank's aware of the song, yeah.

Cheers,
Urs.

Tried a few things...not sure I have the ability to send a PM...thoughts?
If you click on bill_in_akron's name at the top of the original post, it'll take you to his profile where you have the option to contact him.

Hope this helps.

Hi there. Uh, hard to say exactly, but a few months of toying with it. Nice to see the little cogs being noticed, it's all very much intentional. There's a chapter about this song in the new book.
Cheers Frank, I've just pre-ordered the book. Looking forward to reading it!

Re: Broken Piano

I'm notgoing to answer the question. But i suspect there's some serious crafting that goes into most of franks songs Look at Four Simple words, so very clever and well constructed. Polaroid Picture, again, such a clever well written track I could go on but I'll let others join in All of this is tru...

Broken Piano

Hey Frank, how long did it take you to write "Broken Piano"? Because I'm looking at things like the repeated s-s-b assonance pattern in the chorus (sat down, sadness, beneath; sad songs, broken; sinner, saved, banks) and the internal rhyming structure of the verses, and thinking "that can't be a coi...

Re: Introduce Yourself

Heya! I'm Urs from Wellington, NZ.

I got into Frank's music after a friend gave me a mixtape with "Four Simple Words" included on it, and then managed to catch his solo show at San Fran about a week ago. Truly excellent stuff.

Cheers!
