Re: And we're back in the room (sort of) . . .

Trying to post this "Yay! We're back" comment from my phone without TapTalk. For what it's worth, I prefer a forum / message board over Facebook any time. At least here we've got threads and order

Re: Let's Make a GIS of Frank Turner Shows

Unless I've missed a gig, I'm happy to report the German section of this map is done :D I might look up the missing locations in other German speaking countries (Austria, Switzerland) next...

Re: Let's Make a GIS of Frank Turner Shows

Filling this out is actually kind of fun. For the nerd that I am :D Quick tip for everyone else: if you've found the coordinates for a venue, check list (or Frank's archive in a second tab) to see if he has played there multiple times and fill the data in for each of those gigs. Ok, maybe you all al...

OMG, that's such an nerdy and thus awesome idea :) I love geography and maps and will definitely do my share of contributing coordinates this weekend.

Re: show 2000

Exciting! I'm hoping for a gig between Christmas and New Year, as I have to take that time off anyway, so I'm free to travel. To London? Anywhere else in the UK :) ?

Re: UK tour dates announced....

I think the best time I have seen Frank was on the book tour, that was all seated at Cecil Sharp house. He played half a dozen songs solo, and it was brilliant. There seemed to be a lot more depth to songs when given the space to breath. I was at Cecil Sharpe House as well and totally agree that it...

Re: UK tour dates announced....

I imagine Scunthorpe to be a not terribly nice place. I have no idea of course, but I have never heard anyone remark on how wonderful it is. Wikipedia says something about industrial / steel town, which might be a bleak place, but I'm from "The Ruhr" which has a similar history and we do have a lot...

Re: UK tour dates announced....

I like your map very much. I am toying with Scunthorpe and Warrington, simply because I have never been to either place. Thanks! One of the many things I like about tour announcements is reading all those cities names and discovering new extraordinary ones, which I haven't heard before and thus did...

Re: UK tour dates announced....

I'm a bit of a geography / cartography nerd and had some time today to play around with Google Maps and Photoshop and put a map of 50 miles radius of each show on Twitter. https://twitter.com/dennasus/status/770542203143938048 Baring scheduling conflicts with work, family, other stuff and insufficie...

I definitely love the slightly changed look of the forum. Makes it much easier to navigate on while I'm checking in from my phone. I like it a lot!

Re: I would like frank to cover..

"Dying Day" by Brandi Carlile! She's a folk singer from the US and when I re-discovered that song some time ago, I had to think of Frank somehow. It's a song about life on the road or more exact a love song from a touring musician to the person who stayed at home. Here is a one of the clips of the s...

Re: Music millionnaires

There are two things that amaze me about this list. What on earth do you do with that level of wealth ... the mind boggles and then some. Wow .... Coworkers and I just recently had a discussion about that (prompted by football players income, maybe? I don't remember). We came up with an eas...

Re: ABBA museum?

I haven't had a chance to go as yet, but I'd like to. No idea if I have time this time. I wouldn't call myself a ABBA *fan* as such, but I've still booked my ticket to the museum for this Saturday to make the most of my (musical) weekend in Stockholm. And because it's ABBA! They're iconic and I bet...

Add that to the many reasons why I like you :-)

Seriously, some friends recently told me I *need* to get on Snapchat and I gave it a try, but.... I just don't get it. At all!
