Re: Frank Turner: Sellout

Some people are just tossers, with far too much time on their hands.

Re: The "Everything Is Shit" Thread

Hey, sorry I've joined this conversation a bit late, but ah well :) Talking is SO important, whether that be to a counsellor, or just family or friends. I won't go into too much detail, as it doesn't seem the right place, but talking to someone, especially if they have experienced a similar situatio...

Re: Your Favourite Band & What You Dislike About Them.......

I have a few... Frank - It'd be nice sometimes if songs weren't so sad or thoughtful...cause sometimes I don't want to think so much! Green Day - Cant afford tickets. That's not their fault obviously, but it doesn't seem what music should be about. Ed Harcourt - Same with the thoughtful thing, but t...

Re: What makes a gig a gig?

Gutted about Kerrang! Radio, I rely on Matt Stocks shows to hear about new music! I'm not near enough to get Birmingham FM broadcast, but it's nice to know something so good music-wise is based in the Midlands. All Northampton has is Alan Carr and Matt Smith haha! Does anyone know who the presenters...

Re: What is Punk? Need a laugh

Isn't punk meant to be an attitude, rather than an appearance? I dunno. Very few can claim to be 'punk' without sounding like a bit of a knob. Hell, even John Lydon sounds ridiculous now. I went through a 'punk phase', I took some ideas from it, definitely, stubbornness mainly, I seem to remember. B...

Re: Where does Tape Deck Heart fit in?

I know i've gone on about before, ah well! My little sister was born today, and although one of the loveliest things that has ever happened to me, after 19 years as an only child it is a fairly surreal feeling! I've had TDH on all day, and it perfectly suited the situation :) I really did think the ...

Rock radio stations?

This isn't FT related exactly, but thought as there's people from everywhere on here it might be a good place to ask? :) What radio stations do you listen to, especially ones outside of the UK? With world radio apps etc it seems mad to just listen to local ones!

Re: Tape Deck Heart Reviews

I've written a second review, one week later. It's not something I've ever done before, in fact it goes against any beliefs I have about reliable journalism, but the album just suddenly made sense to me, so it seemed the right thing to do. :) http://town-called-alice.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/one-week-...

Re: Where does Tape Deck Heart fit in?

1. Love, Ire & Song 2. Sleep is for the Week 3. England Keep My Bones 4. Poetry of the Deed 5. Tape Deck Heart It's not familiar enough to be anything other that no. 5 yet. It's really strange, I've suddenly gone from completely disliking this album to absolutely loving it. My little sister will be ...

Re: Tape Deck Heart

Obviously it's your call, but I'd be careful with some of the songs, like Tell Tale Signs, the themes are quite heavy for a 3 year old to hear? I definitely won't be playing this album when I'm babysitting my 2 year old cousin.

Re: Tape Deck Heart

I just listened to it through for the first time. I like it, but I don't love it, I'll be honest. The lyrics are good, but nothing really grabs me 'musically'. If you compare it to previous albums, it just doesn't seem to be at same standard? The way it's been produced doesn't really appeal, its mis...
