Cory Branan

Hey Frank Post-revival tour blues have kicked in. Just wondering if you're into the artists on this year's tour. I know you're an admirer of both Emily and Chuck's music but what do you make of Cory Branan? He seemed to be the one relatively unknown artist this year who completely blew everyone away...

Re: Jim Lockey Setlist

Was disappointed not to hear 'Boat Song' on this tour - easily one of my favourite songs. Can't complain though, 'Death' has some absolute belters.

Re: The Revival Tour - UK and Europe 2012

ah man really? I headed out 5 mins or so after to grab some food, came back & everyone seemed gone. Balls. The performances onstage were incredible but the crowd real stale for me. Cory Branan's face / shrug when he tore into 'A Girl Named GO' at his set end said it all... Admittedly the crowd were...

Re: The Revival Tour - UK and Europe 2012

I thought nothing would top the London gig but Birmingham was off the scale! I tweeted Chuck and Cory requesting old songs they rarely play - both kindly responded and honoured my requests! So much respect for those guys. The entire show was phenomenal. The whole gang hung out with the crowd after a...

Re: Set Time Finish

I can say with 100% confidence Frank will finish between 10:45 and 11pm, unless the venue has different curfew rules due to licensing etc but that's unlikely. It might be worth contacting the venue directly and asking what time gigs normally finish. If you do end up missing a chunk of Frank's set, o...

Re: Set Time Finish

Curfew is nearly always 11pm. You would have to miss well over half an hour of Frank's set.

Might be worth staying in a youth hostel or something then getting the first train straight to school in the morning. Although in the true spirit of rock'n'roll you could always bunk off school...

Re: The Revival Tour - UK and Europe 2012

It enhances the whole live music experience so much when you connect with the artists, that's what the Revival Tour is all about. These guys (and girl) just seem so honest and down-to-earth. They live for the music like we do. You can see how much they feed off the crowd when playing live. It's too ...

Re: Two questions..

I love the idea of a b-side style show, or even tour! I reckon there would be huge demand for tickets though

Re: The Revival Tour - UK and Europe 2012

After last year's stunning line up I was slightly disappointed when this year's was announced. I shouldn't have been! The London gig was absolutely incredible. So good that I'm now going to the Birmingham gig as well. For anyone on the fence still I urge you to go! It's worth going for Cory Branan a...

Re: Fun with the Crew

Wow. Chad Kroeger sounds like a massive dick. A millionaire paying (most likely underpaid hard-working) crew members to hurt and seriously injure themselves for his entertainment. Sounds pretty twatish

Re: Videos from intimate gig, November first.

Great videos! I was standing right next to you on your left. I managed to get a few videos. They're a bit shaky but definitely worth checking out. Love this video of 'I knew prufrock...'. About 30 seconds in Frank forgets the words and the crowd help him out - awesome stuff! I'll upload one or two o...

Re: Jim Lockey & Brother and Bones

I'll definitely be there. Absolutely loving the new Jim Lockey album.

The Flapper is a really great venue, it really doesn't get the recognition it deserves. I think because its hidden away in an estate, and difficult to find unless you know where you're going, it kind of gets forgotten about.

The Cure v.s Social Distortion. HELP!

I'm sure lots of people going to the Reading & Leeds festivals this year will have this same dilemma. The Cure and Social Distortion are on at the same time and I have no idea who to watch. I've only recently got into Social D and they're just incredible. The Cure, of course, are legendary. I've nev...

Re: Ballad

Personally, one of the things I can't stand is bands that play the exact same setlist for every show. It just becomes monotonous and boring. It's understandable if it's just for one tour I guess, but some of my favourite bands have been doing it for years, to the point where I no longer go to their...
