Re: New cd reviews...........

Gonna bump this one. Beach Slang - The Things We Do To Find People Who Feel Like Us. A completely fantastic LP - Certainly in my top 3 of the year. Haven't taken it off the turntable since my pre-order arrived. Listen to it. Love it. http://www.stereogum.com/1840006/album-of-the-week-beach-slang-the...

Re: New cd reviews...........

This moving new releases to Friday is stupid.

Anyway - New Jason Isbell is out this week. Based on a few listens I think it might be better than Southeastern.

Re: Mercury Ballroom 5/15/2015

Bought tickets for this without being sure I could go due to not being able to get a babysitter easily.

Fortunately my dad decided that he wants to go to San Francisco next month. Via Ohio. Which means he gets to meet his grand daughter and I have a babysitter.

I believe this is called a result.

Re: RAH gig?

FWIW. I am fairly certain I have seen highlights of the shows each year.

They did release a DVD a few years ago as well. Contained one of my favourite love performances.

Re: New cd reviews...........

A new one for me is Public Service Broadcasting, I have only just discovered these even though they have been making music for sometime. The first album and only album (a new one is out next week) Inform - Educate - Entertain reminds me of bands like The Avalanches, The Go Team, Amongst the Pigeons...

Re: New cd reviews...........

I'm going to sneak in, having just bought The Decemberists "What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World" yesterday. Very mellow and a bit Nick Drake-esque in places, and quite similar to their last offering. Stand-out track for me is the opener, "The Singer Addresses His Audience". It builds from...

Re: Book

Can I be the only one that is contrary to the popular opinion? I've loved Frank's music for years. I probably have the most diverse collection of anyone in the entire world, I am only missing two releases. However, $58 for a "fan edition" of your book? Fuck you. That's insane and just ripping off y...
