Re: Taken Franks Advise

The Passenger by Iggy Pop? Was also done by Siouxsie & the Banshees, if you want to hear it with a female vocal.

Re: UK festivals

Interesting! Thanks for sharing this info. I am going to Cropredy for the first time and envisage it as a festival for white beer-bellied men. There's a whopping two female acts on the entire line up. They are obviously unconcerned about gender balance there. Frank + the Waterboys + Martin Simpson +...

Re: Lisbon Bootleg 2019 (Acoustic / Solo Show)

I have to say i disagree with this, If Frank wanted the show recorded he'd have arranged it himself.. Mmm, Show 2000 was filmed by Frank's people but we are still waiting on a standalone release... Frank has often stated that he has no problem with recordings provided they do not contain unreleased...

Re: Richard Thompson (Gloom and Doom From The Tomb)

I have just booked to go to Fairport Convention's Cropredy Festival this year.
What an irresistible line up: Frank, the Waterboys, Martin Simpson and Richard Thompson! That is enough to justify the ticket price. Add to that Gogol Bordello and Seth Lakeman. Can't go wrong with that.

Re: Richard Thompson (Gloom and Doom From The Tomb)

Richard is amazing live. Have seen him many times and he blows me away every time. Regarding the audience rapport - he comes across a bit posh, but he has a great sense of humour, the times I have seen him anyway. He was the Mojo interview guest at Cambridge Folk Festival once (which Frank did a few...

Podcast with the Craig Finn/the Hold Steady

Anybody bound for LE3 (and anyone else interested of course) may enjoy listening to this podcast with Craig Finn from the Hold Steady. The interview is done by Joe Pug, who I am a big fan of. It is a real fun chat to listen to.

Springsteen on Broadway

Hi Frank. I just saw the video in which you talk about dancing with a porn star, as you do.. I noticed you wearing a Springsteen On Broadway T-shirt.
Was wondering if you have been to the show and if so, what you thought of it.

Re: Show 2000 DVD - additional question

Hi Frank. Saw your tweet about Zürich being the loudest crowd since show #2000. That made me think of this.
Is a standalone DVD still in the pipeline?
I didn’t buy the box it came in as am not a format junkie - I just want to have everything once.
Would love to be able to re-live that show!

Festival reviews

Just back from a festival trip, which was non-Frank this year. Can't have it all. Thought I'd share my reviews here. Some old favourites and lots of new discoveries - and a heatwave! Re: Double Album?

Folk singer Kirsty Merryn has released an album with songs about historical women. Similar idea it seems.

Railway crowdfunder

The Railway Inn in Winchester has a crowdfunding project going on. Thought I'd share here as it is a place where Frank has played often.
