Re: Lost Evenings support

Plus, since the sad announcement that Chris T-T will not be making new music, this is a grand opportunity to see him. I'm a massive fan of his music and writings, and being from America,I really didn't think I'd get the chance to see him perform live. But I am so excited to get to see him at Lost Ev...

Re: Meeting Frank

I met Frank in Portland last year. He was absolutely fantastic! I had driven about 600 miles to see the show. It's a tougher life than I can imagine - but he made me feel like I was his biggest fan. I'll see the show tomorrow night in Oakland - only 100 miles this time. I won't be disappointed. Thi...

Re: The I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY Thread

Obviously the answer is E. Back away quietly and pretend you didn't hear anything. I go with F. Assign people to a focus group to determine who will serve on the subcommittee. Then both groups meet back with recommendations. Which will then be not implemented until more data collection is done. By ...

Welcome, Michael! This is a pretty cool forum. There are many music lovers that have many experiences to share here. And some sarcastic "old timers" (they are my favorites) with great insight. Also a great place to trade tickets. Enjoy!

Re: The I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY Thread

Since it seems like everyone has an opinion to share on something these difficult days, I thought I'd resurrect this thread. I just want to say that I listened to Me First and the Gimmee Gimmees a lot today. I felt better. That's all.

Re: Penn's Landing (Philly Show) Not headlining?

This may not apply to your Philly show, but I just attended some of his shows with Gogol Bordello. And though Frank and the Souls played first, in no way did it feel like a non-headliner's set. It was 1 hour and 15 minutes, with an energetic setlist of about 17 songs. The general feel was of a headl...

New songs

Frank, I really enjoyed your recent show at the NYSEC. But I was especially excited by the new song you played about Dora Hand. The storytelling and music style was one I really enjoy. It put me in the mind of Johnny Cash, George Jones, Townes Van Zandt, with a dash of Delbert McClinton, a favorite ...

Re: Songs you don't play live anymore

I would love to hear "The Next Round" live sometime. To me, that song is so poignant. The lyrics are subtly powerful. I feel like I know those people in that song. I just adore it. You'll hear it eventually. He played it in Portland this past October. One of those older songs of his I was not famil...

Re: Non-Frank Gigs

Just did Twenty One Pilots and Echosmilth last night. Boy did I feel old. I just saw them a few days ago. I have followed them since the beginning, and the audience is definitely younger these days. Their show was amazing! Their newest album Blurry Face isn't my favorite, but it was awesome live. E...

It's a delight! After a raucous version of The Road, then the crowd sings it. It's wistful. It's perfect. So glad it's back!

Re: January 2016 European tour

OH MY GAAAWWWDDDDDD...WHY NO UK DATES? Soooooo unfair. Don't you care about your fans Mr Turner? There is a community centre around the corner from mine, which would be great to see you play in. It's really inconvenient for transport, and as far as I am aware does not have a license for live gigs, ...

Re: What Music Did You First Buy with your Own Money?

Simon and Garfunkle's Bridge Over Troubled Water. It was 1970 (I was 12) but my parents wouldn't buy it because of the lyrics to the song Cecilia. So my older sistet's boyfriend took my birthday/babysitting money and bought it for me. Not sure I enjoyed it; I was a nervous wreck they would find it.
