Re: Album of the year - 2014

Against Me! - Transgender Dysphoria Blues
Manic Street Preachers - Futurology

Also Christian Fitness (Falco from fotl)'s album - although haven't listened enough to list it, it's likely very very good.
I like Billy the Kid's latest and Beans' of course.

Re: Pre Gig Set list

Always do my best to avoid, to the point where last time I saw future of the left, I practically squinted until they hit the stage in case I compulsively glanced at the list. RE: full album shows, Manic Street Preachers struck a good balance last week on the Holy Bible Tour - they did a second set a...

Re: FT & TSS: The Hardcore Show

Softer (Union Chapel gig-like) versions of your amped up stuff and rocked up versions of the acoustic tracks? It might not work because hey, the songs were arranged that way for a reason and changing things up might not suit them all, but it's an interesting thing to imagine! Lots of extra work for ...

Re: self harm

Let her know that she can talk to you and that you won't judge what she's going through. That, I feel, is the main barrier for kids talking to their parents about stuff - fear that a lack of understanding, overreaction or dismissal (either extreme) may occur.

Here's an odd but on-point article from one of the great minds of British music, Andrew Falkous:

Re: Möngöl Hörde

I fucking love the album. Production is to my liking - not sure if I prefer the new Casual Threats or it's just because I'm used to the demo I overplayed for about two years. The album version has more edge to it sonically, at least.

Re: Musical Reccomendations - Fidelity and Lack Thereof

Screamed along to 'Substitute' and 'Worse Things Happen At Sea' last time I saw Frank. Helped immensely.

'Good Luck' by Reuben is a good one.

Re: Meeting Frank

Frank blackmailed IGaveMyEyes into ruining his post as the beardy tosser is aware of possible uprisings and aimed to make the cause appear to be in poor taste. skhmmxi fell for it. Frank is preying on your naivety, friend.

Another boring acoustic guitar question!

Someone I know asked me about which guitar to buy. They want a starter, not too expensive with no massive preference for sound. Problem is, all my guitars are wrecked hand-me-downs, so I lack the knowledge needed to give guidance. Can anybody suggest a good brand?

I felt this a little the last time I saw him but then he *always* pulls something out of the bag that makes the show special. Examples:

Whether intentional or not, this is a list of Frank Turner clichés. I mean this in the best way possible.

Frank Turner: Sellout

So I was looking at Frank's Facebook post about doing what can only be described as a metric fuck-tonne of dates internationally, and roughly half the comments are accusing him of forgetting his roots and selling out for not playing the UK. I know that the 'sell-out' thing gets put about a lot, but ...
