Re: Lost Evenings II

Dammit - missed out on tickets for this. Even my "secret weapon" Stargreen which pretty much *always* has tickets on after all other sites have sold out had nothing - serves me right for forgetting to get up in time I suppose. Really wanted to go to that Saturday show mainly - LI&S is up there as on...

Re: Lost Evenings

As an addendum to the above I hadn't quite registered that the entirety of Campfire Punkrock was played too. A real treat of a gig that's for sure.

Re: Lost Evenings

I haven't logged in on here for years but had to drop in this evening to say how amazing Frank and co were for the SIFTW show. Incredible gig and it was great to hear all those songs live again, albeit a rather different setting to when I saw the original Sleep tour at Plug N Play in Reading 10 year...

Don't suppose you remember the number you did in Million Dead by any chance?

It was better when he had the panda avatar.

Anyone still waiting on number 12 should probably give up hope around 5 years ago.

R.I.P Nick Mann

Whilst I don't expect many people know who he was, today saw the news break of the tragic death of a hero of the underground UK music scene, Nick Mann, who died trying to rescue his brother from the path of a train on the London Underground. His brother remains in hospital in a critical condition. N...

Re: Book

Only a few shows in and already enjoying it hugely. Making me oh so nostalgic for my own minor forays on the UK toilet circuit I was making around the same time. In particular one rather epic journey to play a show at The Fenton in Leeds, to the other band and about 3 paying punters. Had a crackingl...

Re: Who should win The Best Troublemaker Award?

I missed Ray in his "glory days" I think but certainly saw enough of his lunacy over the years. But for me the terminally ill child with poor spelling takes the cake.

I would however like to give Pete a special mention for his use of 'going forward'.

Re: British Accent

Interesting article, though I would hardly call the accent of the Abba girls American. It bugs me when people sing in a put on accent. I'm a fan of Billy Bragg, but I don't like the American accent he puts on for some songs. To me it's pleasing on the ear when someone's accent comes through in thei...

Mongol Horde - Mongol Horde
Hondo Maclean - The Truth, The Fiction

That's all I've got. I've not listened to nearly enough new music this year to really judge, but from what I've listened to these are the only two that really stand out.

Re: Foo Fighters documentary

Interesting. I was put off of this because it's the Foo Fighters, who are like the colour beige in musical form as far as I'm concerned. However, if it's less about them more about the places, then I may well give it a go.
