Re: Does anyone ever worry about music related tattoos??

Other than a biffy logo and lyric tattoo, my frank tattoo says 'be what you believe'. For me, it sums up frank's ethos pretty well, and is a guide for me in how I should live my life. My job, my decisions, my religion (none) so it doesn't just reference frank. I love it. Reminds me of what's importa...

Paupers and Kings
Princes and thieves
Singers or songs
Writers of wrongs
Be what you believe
So saddle your horse
Shoulder your load
Burst at the seams
Be what you dream then take to the road

I have the line in bold tattoo'd to me.

Re: Best gig you've ever seen??

Reuben at Club Academy in Manchester, 2007 I think. It was the best because i got a lift off a mate so i didn't have to leg it for the last train, something that i always used to do. Sucioperro supported and had a long chat with JP after at the merch stand.

Re: What song(s) do you love?

Elbow's Mirrorball is a big one for me. Absolutely beautiful. Sylvia Plath by Ryan Adams. He has a strange ability to write songs I can easily picture in my head. Sylvia Plath is the best example. Billy Bragg's The Saturday Boy. I have no interest in his political songs, though I don't dismiss him f...

Re: Non-Frank Gigs

Been invited to Angels & Airwaves for a second time in April. My mate's a massive fan but after seeing them last time I don't think I could go through with another night of Tom Delonge squalking his way through a set. Such a lazy live singer.

Re: Introductory Song

I took my bro to the manchester gig, never heard of him and only ever been to two gigs in his 25 year old life. He walked out singing Photosynthesis and wanted me to make him a mix cd.

I'd say Photosynthesis, The Road and I Still Believe are all great intro songs.

Frank Turner - EKMB
Foo Fighters - Wasting Light
Tellison - The Wages of Fear
Elbow - Build a Rocket Boys!
Manchester Orchestra - Simple Math

The Foo's and MO records stand out for me, blew me away.

Re: November tour

Really enjoyed Manchester. Emily Barker and co were lovely. As far as the 'larger venues' thing goes, I kind of sensed that at first but once they got going they really filled out the room. Of course we singing helped too. I thought it was quite brave of him to play the reworking of Father's Day and...

The Verve @ Haigh Hall in 1998

Supported by Beck and John Martyn.

I was only 11, so couldn't see much. I don't really count it as my first gig. Maybe it's a bit better to call it my first gig as my next one was Nickelback at Manchester Academy. You decide.
